If someone mentions the Caribbean, what is it that comes to your mind? Most probably you will think of sun, coconut palms, beaches, swimming, Bacardi, beach parties, waves, Bob Marley and women in skimpy bikinis. However, the Caribbean is also a great family vacation destination.
There are around 7,000 islands in the Caribbean that together make up the West Indies. Some of the well known and famous islands in the Caribbean include Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados, Cuba, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Cayman Islands, Saint Lucia and Trinidad. All these islands are also great for family vacations.
Though Jamaica is always considered to be a place for adults to vacation, it is also a great family vacation spot. There are many good beaches on the island that are safe for kids. In addition, there are resorts that specifically cater to families and offer a galore of activities for kids and adults alike.
The Bahamas is also a great place for families looking to relax and spend some meaningful time together. While you are spending time in some of the casinos on the island, your kids can enjoy themselves at the playground of the resort you are living in. Also, take your kids to one of the many water parks that present in the resorts, or spend time going to a spa to get yourself a massage. Most of these facilities are available in the resorts that are scattered all over the island.
St Lucia is another family destination spot in the Caribbean that you should not miss. If you are looking for calm and peaceful place, then this is the one. While mostly the rich visit this island looking for peace and quiet, it still has a lot to offer families who are holidaying with their kids.
